Payroll

Growth & up

Payroll posting from Gusto with full labor allocation.

Sync payroll runs from Gusto. Quoining posts the JEs via SmartGL (DR Wages, CR Liabilities, CR Cash), and routes project labor from approved timesheets so cost accounting ties out.

Sync

01

Payroll runs from Gusto.

Connect Gusto and Quoining imports each payroll run with employee-level wage, tax, and deduction breakdown. SmartGL builds the full JE - you review and post it in one click.

  • Employee-level wage, tax, deduction breakdown.
  • One-click SmartGL-built JE: DR Wages / CR Liabilities + Cash.
  • Project labor posting from approved timesheets.

Why Quoining

02

Payroll journals that book themselves.

Payroll providers run payroll; someone still has to book it. Quoining ingests each run and drafts the full entry, wages, taxes, benefits, and liabilities, mapped to your chart.

  • Direct Gusto integration with per-run journal entries for review.
  • Per-entity payroll: each connected entity's runs post to that entity's ledger.
  • Liabilities clear against payments so the payroll accounts reconcile.

Questions

About payroll.

Which payroll providers are supported?

Gusto today, with Paychex, Rippling, and ADP coming soon. See /features/integrations.

How does project labor allocation work?

Approved timesheets attribute labor to projects: on approval, Quoining posts the labor cost to the project's allocation account (WIP, COGS, capitalized software, or R&D) against a labor offset, so project cost ties out alongside the payroll entry.
